"The goal of education should be to develop the potential of each child.”
Maria Montessori
Welcome! On behalf of our learners, staff and community, we are thrilled to welcome you to Leading Futures, an education service and alternative provision dedicated to supporting learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are privileged to launch our services this academic year, as we are driven by our commitment to positively impacting the academic and personal outcomes of young people.
We have a dedicated team of staff with extensive experience of supporting learners with additional needs. All staff at Leading Futures recognise the importance of the children receiving ‘the right support, at the right time’. Staff work relentlessly to fulfil our mission statement and to remove barriers to learning, ensuring learners experience success.
Our alternative provision is a nurturing and inclusive environment, where every child can thrive, learn, and develop at their own pace. We believe every learner is unique and possesses their own strengths and talents. Through our personalised learning experiences, we meet the individual needs of learners and provide opportunities that allow them to flourish and achieve their full potential.
At Leading Futures, we offer a combination of academic and holistic programmes of study within our setting. Our learning pathways are engaging, and activities are designed to promote academic achievement, develop social skills, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Through the promotion of our core values, we work hard to empower our learners to contribute positively to the diverse communities in which they belong. The Leading Futures values guide and govern all work within our provision:
Aspire for Excellence
Belong to a Community
Connect to Thrive
Our specialism is Arts and Crafts, which we believe encourages creativity, self-expression, confidence, critical thinking and resilience. Through engaging and hands-on activities, we provide a unique platform for learners to explore their artistic talents while developing essential physical, cognitive and social skills, such as fine motor coordination, concentration, problem solving and teamwork. Through our art, we foster a culture of mindfulness, respect, understanding and collaboration, ensuring every voice is heard and valued.
We invite you to join us on this exciting journey. Together in partnership, we can build a supportive community where every learner feels safe, valued and inspired to succeed, regardless of their starting point. We look forward to working with all stakeholders to create a brighter future for all.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that it gives you an insight into our educational services and our alternative provision. You can also contact us to schedule a visit to see our vibrant provision first-hand.
Kindest Regards,

Our Journey
Leading Futures Education Services was co-created and developed by ourselves, Emma Rennie-Gibbons and Samantha Webster. With over 40 years of combined experience in education, we bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our provision. Our professional backgrounds encompass teaching, special education, and wellbeing support, equipping us with the skills necessary to meet the diverse needs of learners. We are committed to continuous professional development, keeping abreast of the latest research and best practices in the field of SEND.

As parents of children with SEND, we also have firsthand experience of the challenges faced in mainstream education. Navigating the complexities of the educational system can be overwhelming, and we understand the frustration of seeking suitable support. Our personal journey has fuelled our passion for creating a provision that prioritises understanding, empathy, and effective communication with learners and their families.
In the current educational landscape, children with SEND often represent the "forgotten third," left behind in traditional settings, feeling marginalised and unsupported. We are dedicated to changing this narrative by providing advice, guidance and in-reach support to colleagues, as well as an inclusive and nurturing alternative provision that prioritises our learners' needs and aspirations. We are determined to ensure that all young people, regardless of need, are seen, heard, and supported, allowing them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We believe that timely and appropriate support is crucial for the personal development and success of young people. By using our extensive knowledge of SEND to establish Leading Futures Education Services and our own alternative provision, we aim to encourage and deliver individualised support that meets the unique needs of each learner. Our approach is proactive, focusing on early interventions and evidence-based strategies that foster resilience and self-confidence in our learners, as well as positive academic outcomes.

We are committed to adhering to best practices in education, particularly in the realm of SEND and alternative provision. This includes creating individualised learning plans, embedding collaborative approaches with families/local authorities/agencies and home schools, and conducting regular assessments to identify needs and monitor progress. By creating a culture of high expectations and accountability, we strive to empower learners to achieve their full potential.

Within our alternative provision, our focus is on measurable outcomes and the long-term success of learners. We celebrate every achievement, no matter how small, and recognise that success looks different for each individual. By providing tailored support, we aim to prepare our learners for adulthood, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to navigate their futures successfully.

Our journey to launch our education services and our own alternative provision has been shaped by personal experiences, professional expertise, and a deep commitment to supporting young people with SEND. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for those who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education.
