Educational Visits Intent Statement
At Leading Futures, we understand the immense value of learning outside the classroom and the integral role it has in enhancing the overall educational experience. Our aim is to provide learners with a broad, engaging, and diverse curriculum that equips them for adult life in an ever-changing world. Educational visits are an essential part of this, offering enriching opportunities that support the academic and personal development of all our learners

We are committed to offering a comprehensive educational experience, which includes a dynamic enrichment programme that draws on a wide range of skills, to support preparation to adulthood. This is made possible through school trips, guest visitors, and themed enrichment days, all of which contribute to a richer, more well-rounded education.

Our curriculum capitalises on local and national resources, ensuring that learners are exposed to a variety of experiences that deepen their understanding of the world around them. These activities are designed to broaden horizons, stimulate curiosity, and deepen critical thinking skills.

The health, safety, and well-being of our learners and staff is always our top priority. We take every necessary precaution to ensure that educational visits and school trips are carried out in a safe and secure environment. Our safeguarding procedures are thorough, with both staff and learners being fully informed of their roles and responsibilities while participating in these activities.

We are equally committed to ensuring that learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) are fully supported during educational visits. We recognise the importance of inclusivity and actively make adjustments to ensure that all learners, regardless of their needs, can engage with the experience. This may include offering additional support staff, providing accessible transport, adjusting the pace or structure of the visit, or making sure that venues are accessible. We work closely with SEND learners, their families, and relevant staff to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met, enabling them to participate fully and confidently in all aspects of the visit.

Our ‘Leading Futures Pledge’ guarantees that every learner will have the opportunity to explore new activities, visit exciting places, and experience the world in fresh and inspiring ways. Through our inclusive approach, we ensure that these experiences are accessible to all, providing every learner with the chance to learn and grow outside the traditional classroom setting.
